Terms of use and license
Last updated: October 15, 2026
The short version. The Chk plugins are free software under the GPL: you can use and change their code. What a paid plan buys is our service around them: AI answers, emails and notifications sent by our servers, updates and support. Plans renew until you cancel, you can cancel at any time, and the AI has a fair use limit so one site cannot slow down everyone else. These terms are written to be read; if anything is unclear, write to us.
Who you are agreeing with
Digital Checkmark LLC, based in Tampa, Florida, United States. In these terms "we" and "us" mean Digital Checkmark LLC, and "you" means the person or organization that uses getchk.com, installs one of our plugins or holds a license. By installing a plugin, activating a license or paying for a plan, you accept these terms.
What these terms cover
- The website getchk.com.
- The Chk plugins for WordPress: today Chatbot Chk, Helpdesk Chk and Reviews Chk, and the others we publish here.
- The online services those plugins use: activation and licenses, updates, the AI answers of Chatbot Chk, the emails and notifications we send for you, and the download links we email.
Our privacy policy explains what data all of this uses, and our refunds page explains cancellations and refunds. Both are part of these terms.
The code and your license
The plugins are released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. You may use them on as many sites as you like, read and change their code, and share it under the same license.
A license is something different: it is your account with us, identified by your email and a license key. It decides which plan you have, how many sites use our services and how many AI messages you get. The license key is for you and your sites: do not publish it, share it with people outside your organization or resell access to our services. Changing the plugin's code to get around a plan's limits is not allowed, because the limits apply to our servers, not to the code.
Plans, payments and renewals
- Prices are in US dollars and are the ones shown on the plugin's page and its plans screen when you buy. Taxes are added where the law requires them.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; see our refunds page.
- If a payment fails, Stripe tries again for a few days. If it still fails, the license goes back to the free plan; nothing on your site is deleted.
- If we change a price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and a change never applies in the middle of a period you already paid for.
- The Chatbot Chk Pro trial lasts 14 days and needs no card. When it ends, the license goes back to the free plan unless you choose a plan.
Chatbot Chk: fair use of the AI
What counts. Each answer the bot gives with our AI counts as one message. Messages between a visitor and a person on your team do not count, and neither do answers the bot gives with your own AI key. With your own key there is no limit on our side.
Messages per plan, each month:
- Free: 100.
- Starter: 1,000.
- Pro: fair use up to 20,000, shared by its up to 3 sites.
- Agency: 60,000, shared by its up to 10 sites.
- 14-day Pro trial: 1,000.
A conversation uses about 5 answers on average, so 20,000 messages are about 4,000 conversations. "Unlimited" on Pro means the normal use of a business website. Almost no customer reaches the limit; if your real traffic needs more, write to us and we raise it at no extra cost.
When you reach the limit. We warn you in the dashboard at 80% and at 100%. The chat does not break: it shows your "not available" message and keeps offering to leave an email and to talk to a person. AI answers come back when the next month starts, or right away if you connect your own key.
Not fair use:
- reselling or sharing access;
- using the chat as an API for other systems;
- sending automated or bulk messages;
- using the AI for anything other than helping the visitors of your site.
There is also an hourly limit against abuse. If we see use like this, we write to you first; only if it continues may we pause the AI answers of that license.
What counts as a site. Each site on a license is one WordPress with the plugin. If that WordPress runs the chat on another domain (a Wix, Shopify or plain HTML site, for example), that domain is the site: the chat answers only there. Each additional domain needs its own WordPress and its own place on a license.
Changes. If we change these numbers, we give 30 days' notice, and a change never applies in the middle of a period you already paid for.
Your site, your visitors and your content
- You decide what the plugins do on your site and what they say: the content the chat answers from, the forms, the emails and the messages your team writes. You are responsible for that content and for using the plugins lawfully.
- Your visitors' data belongs to you. You are responsible for telling them what your site collects, in your own privacy policy, and for any consent the law asks of you. When that data passes through our services (an AI answer, an email we send for you, a notification to your team), we handle it only to provide that service, as our privacy policy describes.
- Do not use the plugins to send spam, to collect data you have no right to, to deceive people about who they are talking to, or for anything illegal where you or your visitors are.
AI answers
The chat answers with an AI model that reads the content you give it. Its answers can be wrong or incomplete. They are not a quote, a commitment or professional advice on your behalf. Review what your chat says, keep your content up to date and let your visitors reach a person; the plugin is built for exactly that.
Services from other companies
Some features connect to services that belong to other companies, such as Stripe, AI providers, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, HubSpot or Emailit. When you turn one on, that company's own terms also apply to your use of it. We are not responsible for their availability or for changes they make.
Availability, updates and support
- We work to keep our services running at all times, but we do not promise a specific uptime. If our servers cannot be reached, the plugins keep working on your site; the features that need us (AI answers with our key, our emails, notifications) wait until we are back.
- Updates arrive through the normal WordPress updates screen while the plugin is supported. We may change, improve or remove features. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, we tell you in advance and refund the affected period.
- Support is by email at hello@getchk.com. We answer on business days, usually within one or two.
Suspension and closing a license
We may pause or close a license that breaks these terms, after writing to you and giving you a reasonable chance to fix it, unless the use is clearly abusive or illegal or puts other customers at risk. You may stop using our services at any time: cancel your plan and, if you want, ask us to delete your license and its data.
Names and content
The names Chk, Chatbot Chk, Helpdesk Chk and Reviews Chk, our logos and the text and design of getchk.com belong to Digital Checkmark LLC. The GPL covers the plugins' code; it does not give rights to our names or logos.
Warranty and liability
The plugins and our services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of AI answers.
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or one hundred dollars (USD 100) if you have not paid us anything.
This section does not limit liability for fraud, for willful misconduct, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page, and if a change materially affects paying customers we tell them by email at least 30 days before it applies. Continuing to use the plugins or our services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protections of the law where you live. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
